Für dieses Rockspektakel der Extraklasse war eine Manege genau die richtige Bühne. Am 11. Dezember 1968 hatten 'The Rolling Stones' in Originalbesetzung - also noch mit dem im Jahr darauf verstorbenen Brian Jones - in ihren großen Rock'n'Roll-Circus geladen. Dort zelebrierten sie selbst Bandklassiker wie 'Sympathy for the Devil', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' und 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' und lauschten Gästen wie Yoko Ono, Taj Mahal, The Who, Marianne Faithfull und Jethro Tull sowie der eigens für diese Show formierten Band um Keith Richards, John Lennon (alias The Dirty Mac), Eric Clapton und Jimi-Hendrix-Drummer Mitch Mitchell.
